We are looking for an Android Developer to join mobile development at Virta and who will possess a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. This Android developer will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. Our applications are making the charging experience simple and effortless for electric vehicle drivers.

What we expect from you: 

• Create scalable, future-proof mobile applications, and realistic plans towards developing them across the Virta Platform  
• Work with other development teams and business to ideate software solutions 
• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Integrate and work with both REST and GraphQL APIs for seamless data communication and app functionality
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Testing of new features based on given acceptance criteria and to be able to define test cases for other developers to test on features you have developed
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Your current residence is inside the EU

 What we expect you to know about: 

• Proven hands-on experience in mobile application development with Kotlin (Swift is a plus) 
• Experience in Scrum and Kanban. SAFe and other agile methodologies are a plus
• Fluent in English, as it is the main working language at Virta
• Libraries and technologies that’d be valuable to have in your tool belt: Coroutines, Flow, Retrofit, Glide, Koin, Jetpack, Lottie, Ktor client
• Experience of following is a plus: Kotlin Multiplatform, RxJava, Reaktive.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle. Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines is a plus

• Native Apps using Kotlin and Swift
• React-based web UIs
• NodeJS microservices with Typescript, a PHP 8.0, Laravel 8 Monolith, and PHP legacy systems with JQuery UI 
• MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Kafka, all running on AWS 
• Microservice deployment on top of Kubernetes 
• Tools like Jira, Miro, Figma, Stoplight and Postman
• Gitlab version control, Gitlab pipelines and Fastlane
• Release automation scripts in Python, Bash and Swift.
