We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join our dynamic Engineering team and play a key role in driving technical excellence, team growth, and high-quality software delivery. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll balance technical contributions with people management, making a direct impact on both our technology stack and team development. The preferred location for this role is Finland.

As Engineering Team Lead, you will lead the delivery of complex software solutions for our SaaS platform. Your technical expertise will help guide the team in building scalable, event-driven systems while modernizing and transitioning critical components from legacy architectures. You will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring the team thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a small or mid-sized team: Conduct regular 1:1s, offer performance feedback, and support team members’ career growth.
• Provide technical oversight: Ensure design choices and coding standards uphold high-quality, scalable solutions, leveraging your advanced proficiency in the tech stack.
• Act as Tech Lead: Oversee architectural decisions, code reviews, and critical debugging or performance optimization efforts.
• Enable effective collaboration: Coordinate closely with product managers, designers, and other technical leads to align sprint goals and timelines.
• Foster continuous improvement: Encourage best practices in testing, deployment, and maintainability while championing an environment of learning and innovation.
• Be Part of the Product Trio: Collaborate closely with the product manager and designer as part of the "product trio." You will evaluate the feasibility of solutions emerging from the discovery process and ensure technical considerations are fully integrated.
• Lead Technical Planning: Work with the team to plan technical solutions, designing and scoping implementations that meet both business and technical requirements.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Oversee processes like code reviews and provide guidance to uphold engineering standards, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, robust, and maintainable solutions.
• Make Key Decisions: Take responsibility for the team’s technical outputs by determining whether a solution meets the required standards of excellence or needs further refinement.

Our expectations:

• Experience in technical leadership role, with a strong background in software development.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures, microservices, and modern software development practices.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/NestJS
• Basic understanding of PHP/Laravel
• Familiarity and expertise in some of the following tools and technologies such as React, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Grasp of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
• Good communication skills and ability to mentor and inspire teams.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
